The following is a collection of sermon series on various books of the Bible. Here is a "short-list" of the different messages.
|Series Name||Description / # Messages|
|The Acts of the Apostles||The second half of our teaching series on Luke-Acts explores the book of Acts and "all that Jesus continued to do and teach" through the Holy Spirit at work in the followers of Jesus. By engaging this history of the early church we find our place in this continuing story of God and His salvation of the whole world.|
|The Gospel of Luke||This series explores the theme of the Kingdom of God all the way through Luke's account to the end of Acts. Of particular interest is his interest in women and children, issues of social justice, and the beloved physician's perspective on Jesus' miraculous healings.|
|The Pastoral Epistles||Feel the pastors heart for the church as the elder pastor, Paul, mentors the younger pastors, Timothy and Titus.|
|The Revelation of Jesus Christ to John||
This very popular series sparked a high level of interest, and people brought their friends to hear it. There is a very clear intent here to determine what the text meant when it was written. Only then can we begin to determine what it means for us today. This book is filled with strange symbols that made all kinds of sense to the original readers, but if we are not careful, we can make huge non-sense of them today. What did this book really say to first century believers? We believe it is a message about radical discipleship, a message we need to hear today.
|The Gospel of John Series||
Prodded by the Lord to study together this unique and amazing gospel. Don Rousu, and his son, Nathan, worship pastor at Harvest, take turns with the teaching of this series. This is a first team teaching effort for them!
|The Letter to the Hebrews||This is an older series originally recorded on cassette tape, which we just recently converted to a digital format. When it was only available as a cassette tape album, it received wide circulation as people recommended it to their friends. The Letter to the Hebrews brings together the Old Covenant sacrificial system with the New Covenant that we have in Christ. As a result, we see both the Old and the New with new revelation and understanding.
|The Letters of John Series||
We felt led to do a follow up to the Series on the Gospel of John. While John wrote his gospel to reveal Jesus to the world as the Messiah and to evoke life-giving faith in Him, the letters of John apply those same revelations to the fabric of daily living in the Church.
|Teaching Series on Proverbs: "Wise Man - Fool"||
The Book of Proverbs is essentially about two people, the Wise Man and the Fool. Wisdom brings great rewards, but she must be diligently sought out!
|Messages from Philippians||
This series, launched at the beginning of 1999, explores the extremely affectionate relationship that Paul had with the church at Philippi. With them, Paul is the most vulnerable and transparent.
|Messages from Galatians||
What is the essence of our freedom in Christ? This popular series on Galatians was recorded on cassette tape and produced as an album in the late 90's. It was recently converted to a digital MP3 format for posting on this website.
|Teaching Series on Romans||
Paul's letter to the church at Rome is still a dynamic message to the church today about law and grace, the believer's identity in Christ, Israel and the church, the transformed life, and harmony in the life of the Church.
|How to Study the Bible||
When we lead others to Christ, we usually encourage them to "read the Bible." But where should they begin? The Bible is a complex collection of many writings by many authors over many centuries. The topics in this series will help both new and more mature believers to find their way.
